UConn Extends Offer to 2028 Three-Star WR

The UConn Huskies don’t seem to stop after securing over 60 transfer portal commitments. Jason Candle and Co. have already begun recruiting talent for the upcoming classes.

On January 31, 2026, UConn extended a scholarship offer to one of the Northeast’s most promising wide receiver prospects, Amari “Kash” Jones from St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, New Jersey.

“Extremely blessed to receive an offer from The University of Connecticut #agtg,” Jones wrote on X.

Jones, a 5’11”, 165-pound junior currently donning the St. Peter’s Prep Marauders uniform. He is one of the most sought-after pass catchers in the 2028 class despite his undersized frame. The youngster has received offers from UConn, Penn State, Boston College, and Temple.

He caught a brilliant pass from Tyler Bell for a 31-yard touchdown in November. He helped the program to a record of 8-3 and a non-public A semifinalist.

Physical receiver, difficult to press but also take advantage of any cushions given. Continuing to develop into a complete route runner but initial explosiveness at LOS makes him difficult to cover,” Brandon Howard said about Jones.

Jones has precise route-running ability, exceptional ball security, and the competitiveness to win contested catches against taller defenders.
