Is Patrick Mahomes Playing Today in Chiefs vs. Bears Week 3 Preseason Game?

Patrick Mahomes has played only one snap in the Kansas City Chiefs’ two preseason fixtures. Head coach Andy Reid has refrained from using his superstar quarterback ahead of the season.

The Chiefs have lost both of their preseason games, to the Arizona Cardinals in the preseason opener and to the Seattle Seahawks last week. Will they bring out their main weapon in the preseason finale?

Will Patrick Mahomes play tonight vs. Bears?

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs fan can tighten their seat belts for Friday’s fixture against the Chicago Bears. Big Red cleared the air on whether the starters will suit up for the preseason finale.

“Start. I’m going to just play it by ear. They’ll start it off. We’ll just see how it goes from there,” Reid said.

This will give the starters some gametime ahead of the NFL season opener. Gardner Minshew, Chris Oladokun and Bailey Zappe have split the offensive snaps for the Chiefs in Mahomes’ absence.

The Chiefs have taken precautionary measures to avoid any major injury. Some snaps in the last outing before the regular season kicks off will allow the players to try some schemes and get into rhythm.

Patrick Mahomes and Co. are coming off a Super Bowl loss, which crushed their dream of becoming the first team to complete a three-peat. They will aim to avenge the loss and bring glory to Kansas City this season.
