The former second-round pick charted 15 solo tackles, ͏11 assisted͏ tackles, and 4.5 sacks in 17 games in the 2023 NFL season before tearing his ACL and MCL͏ in the 2024 training camp that sidelined him for the entire 2024 season.

The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing 7-10 season and would hope to make a deep run to the postseason. Micah Parsons was in the final year of his contract with Dallas and was seeking a bigger contract with the franchise. The trade saga went on for the whole offseason before the two parties parted ways.

Things continued to get worse between Jones and Micah Parsons in August. Parsons got traded to Green Bay, where he inked a four-year, $188 million contract extension with the franchise. The deal made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL. He is set to make his debut with the Packers against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, September 7.
